The Risen Christ did not appear to His disciples so they could admire Him. He appeared so He could send them. 'As the Father has sent me, so I send you.' Easter is not a destination — it is a departure. It is not the end of the story but the beginning of our mission.
Every encounter with the Risen Lord in Scripture ends with a sending. Mary Magdalene: 'Go and tell my brothers.' The women at the tomb: 'Go quickly and tell His disciples.' The eleven on the mountain: 'Go, make disciples of all nations.'
We cannot keep Easter to ourselves. The joy of the resurrection demands proclamation. The love we have received demands sharing. The mercy we have experienced demands extension to others.
The world is waiting for Easter people — men and women who have encountered the Risen Lord and carry His light into every dark corner of human experience. Will you be one of them?
