The resurrection is not just about one man rising from the dead. It is the beginning of the new creation, the renewal of all things in Christ. Saint Paul tells us that if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation — the old has passed away, the new has come.
Notice that John's Gospel places the resurrection on the first day of the week — echoing the first day of creation in Genesis. This is no coincidence. The evangelist is telling us that Easter is a new Genesis. God is not simply repairing what was broken — He is making all things new.
This cosmic vision of Easter should transform how we see everything: our bodies, our relationships, our work, our world. Nothing is profane when seen through resurrection eyes. The material world is not an obstacle to the spiritual — it is the very medium through which God's glory is revealed.
