The Risen Christ kept His wounds. This is perhaps the most astonishing detail of the resurrection narratives. When He appeared to the disciples, He showed them His hands and His side. When Thomas doubted, Christ invited him to touch the very marks of His passion.
Why did the glorified Lord retain His wounds? Because they are not signs of defeat but trophies of victory. They proclaim that love is stronger than death, that mercy is more powerful than violence, that the cross is not the end but the beginning.
And so it is with our wounds. The suffering we carry — physical, emotional, spiritual — is not meaningless when united to Christ's passion. Our scars, like His, can become sources of light. Our brokenness, offered to God, becomes the very place where resurrection breaks through.
Do not hide your wounds. Do not be ashamed of your suffering. Bring them to the Risen Lord, and watch Him transform them into glory.
